St. Louis CVB information
Enjoy this grand old city, founded by Pierre Laclede in 1764 as a French fur-trading village. Today you will see the thriving city it has become as the Gateway to the West. See the “Gateway Arch”, this stainless steel structure towers 630 feet into the air and spans 630 feet in width, making it the tallest national monument in the nation. You can enjoy such sites as: Laclede’s Landing, the historic Soulard district, Union Station, Washington Avenue, Anheuser-Busch Brewery, 20+ museums and attractions and Forest Park, which was the site of the 1904 World’s Fair. Visit the St. Louis Visitors Center website at www.explorestlouis.com for a complete listing of attractions and city highlights.
- Laclede’s Landing, a nine-block area of century-old brick and cast-iron façade buildings, conjures up images of steamboats, busy levees and the riverfront days of another time. Enjoy the comfortable ambiance of The Landing’s outstanding restaurants and sidewalks cafes as well as ducking into some of the unique specialty shops. When dusk falls, The Landing sparkles as the city’s premiere entertainment district. Live entertainment reigns, with choices ranging form hot blues and contemporary dance mixes to dueling pianos and improvisational comedy.
- Indulge your moods, explore your impulses, and celebrate delight in the casual elegance of Plaza Frontenac. Enjoy a premiere upscale shopping experience, and visit Saint Louis’ only Saks Fifth Avenue and Missouri’s only Neiman Marcus. More than 40 specialty shops, premiere cinema, fine dining and casual restaurants offer a spirited atmosphere of compelling invitations.
- Washington Avenue waiting for text here from CVB. This is a new area, they are to be sending me information on this.
