THE ADVANCING DIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIP
DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS IS OCTOBER 1, 2010
The Advancing Diversity Scholarship offers up to 5 ethnically diverse professionals the opportunity to attend the CASE District VI annual conference. CASE District VI will cover conference registration ($350); awards dinner ($40); New Professionals track ($75); and travel stipend ($400 maximum).
This is a value of $865 to the institution. The institution/organization would only be responsible for other travel expenses and incidental fees not covered by the scholarship package.
NOTE: Applicants residing in/near the host city of Kansas City are ineligible to receive the travel stipend.
CASE District VI invites each educational institution in the district to nominate up to three individuals who they determine as their representatives. Each applicant must meet the following criteria:
(1) American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian, Black/African American, Hispanic/Latino, Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander, or Multi-racial.
(2) Employed by an educational institution in CASE District VI, which includes: Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wyoming
(3) Currently hold a position in one of the three professional areas of advancement—alumni relations, communications/marketing or fund raising.
The CASE VI selection committee will review all applicants and select up to 5 individuals best suited to receive the Advancing Diversity Scholarship. Applicants are evaluated on the basis of their education, experience and career goals. While previous scholars are encouraged to apply, special consideration will be given to first-time applicants and previous non-recipients.
PARTNERSHIP BY CASE DISTRICT VI AND THE SPONSORING INSTITUTION
The Advancing Diversity Scholarship recipients' costs will be shared among CASE District VI and the sponsoring institution. They are as follows:
- CASE District VI will cover the conference registration fee and pre-conference workshop (if applicable), and provide one (1) admittance to the awards dinner for each of the awardees.
- CASE District VI will also provide a travel stipend for the awardees, maximum of $400. NOTE: Applicants residing in/near the host city of Kansas City are ineligible to receive the travel stipend.
- CASE District VI will schedule a minimum of two sessions within the conference specifically for the awardees, in addition to the aforementioned applicable pre-conference workshops. These sessions will serve to prepare awardees on how to maximize benefits to be derived from the conference and to review/evaluate the success of the program.
- Each sponsoring institution agrees to pay all other travel and incidental costs for their applicant to participate in the activities listed above.
