CASE VI Scholarships

District VI is proud to support CASE HQ Opportunity and Inclusion efforts by offering up to 12 scholarships to assist people interested in attending the CASE V & VI conference. The scholarship program includes awards for Advancing Diversity, Emerging Students and New Professionals.

All applicants must be employed by or enrolled in a CASE VI institution, but individual and/or institutional CASE membership is not required. Each applicant’s sponsoring school must agree to cover all expenses related to conference attendance. Financial awards will be distributed during on-site conference registration. Although not required, sponsors are strongly encouraged to attend the conference.

Applications are due by Sept. 23, 2016. Recipients will be notified no later than Oct. 25. Recipients are expected to:

  • Register and attend the New Advancement Professionals Track (optional for Advancing Diversity recipients), which begins at 10am on Saturday, Dec. 10
  • Complete conference registration (including the Tuesday lunch) by the early bird deadline of November 2 and make all travel arrangements
  • Submit a professional headshot and agree to be recognized verbally at the Monday afternoon district event as well as online and in conference publications

Advancing Diversity Scholarships

The CASE District VI Board is committed to supporting the recruitment and retention of a more diverse workforce. The cornerstone of our efforts is the Advancing Diversity Scholarship. Each applicant for this scholarship must meet the following criteria:

  • American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian, Black/African American, Hispanic/Latino, Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander, Multi-racial, LGBTQ, or differently-abled.
  • Currently hold a position in one of the three professional areas of advancement—alumni relations, communications/marketing or fund raising.

The CASE VI Opportunity and Inclusion Committee will review all applications and select up to four recipients who will each receive a $1,000 award. While previous recipients are welcome to apply, preference is given to people who have not received this award before.

New Professional Scholarships

CASE VI provides up to six New Professional Scholarships for $1,000 each. New Professional Scholarships are available to advancement employees who are recent graduates with fewer than three years of experience or those new to the professional from a non-related field. Previous recipients are not eligible to receive these awards.

Emerging Student Scholarships

Emerging Student Scholarships are available to undergraduate or graduate students who are interested in pursuing a career in educational advancement and are affiliated with some aspect of advancement (i.e. student caller, student alumni association member, MPA student or advancement office worker). There are two awards available. Each scholarship covers conference and new professional track registration as well as three nights lodging at the Sheraton Grand Chicago hotel.
